What is Global Affiliate Zone about?

Mathieu Jang & Julian Sherman both trained and mentored previously at AWOL, co-founded Global Affiliate Zone (GAZ) at 2017. GAZ is an online platform which claims that is aimed in providing training and mentorship to build your online business. When you first come to their site, you find with a bold statement about going through the fastest path from being an employee to become an entrepreneur. On the background, a powerful video of a man driving a sports car that switches with others displaying some activities apparently of a business meeting, which runs in autoplay on the background.

When going down and along with the entire home page of the site, there are more generic statements somehow expected at this moment. They are about how a ‘global community, partnership, and proven education’ can make a change in people to lead them from working a 9 to 5 scheme to live a full life as entrepreneurs.

There are only sketches here of the kind of education and support that this program provides. Like some mentions about what you can learn and earn with their ‘internal affiliate programs’ taught by so-called affiliate marketing experts. Besides a brief mention regarding help and support through:

  • A Facebook Mastermind Group
  • Three live webinars per week about marketing, mindset and personal development
  • A Concierge Support Desk

The last section of this homepage leads you to their blog, which surprisingly only shows three entries named “Icons Within Us [PART ONE, TWO AND THREE respectively]. Which are dated back to September-October 2018, that is 10 months old!

As usual in this kind of websites, an affiliate program link its shown in the footer together with legal stuff. However, there is no link or button for login to members or registration for applicants anywhere. A bit of additional research allowed us to discover a subdomain of the site to enter as a member of the program (not as an affiliate. We’ll talk about this later). As well as a portal to pay for GAZ PRO Membership v1.5 (North American), only through links on third-party sites.

But if you do more careful research on the web, you can find a bunch of GAZ related videos from members. Such videos will provide you with a link to get exposed to the marketing presentation of this program, and the beginning of their sales funnel.

Essentially as themselves declare they are affiliate marketers. So before explaining in detail what their program consists of, briefly describe what affiliate marketing is about and go through what they have outlined as a ‘Three Step Laptop Formula”:

  • #1 ‘To have an irresistible offer
  • #2 ‘Get Eyeballs on your Offer’ and
  • #3 ‘Plug into A Marketing System (The Sales Funnel)’

They use Facebook and Instagram as their leading platforms. They say people look at their cell phones at least 250 times a day, and many of those times are checking out social media. According to their program, one can put an ad on Facebook starting from $5, with a straightforward headline and a 3 min long video. After that, you can get thousands of people watching at that ad with a significant percentage clicking on it.

What do you need to start?

First, you can get general information about GAZ in three ways:

  • (the quickest) Through a relative, friend, or acquaintance who directly provides you with her/his affiliate link. So you can register on their downline, hopefully after she/he explains to you what GAZ is about.
  • Through a presentation on the network made by a member that you do not know where she/he explains what GAZ is about and insert her/his link so that you click on it or
  • (the longest and most complete) Through a presentation on the web prepared by a person that you do not know who, in addition to explaining for herself/himself what GAZ is about, insert a link that takes you to see a MasterClass pre-made by ‘successful’ members of this platform
GAZ Masterclass

So if you decide to go further with this program, you have to pay your monthly membership.

GAZ Monthly Price

Any of the ways mentioned above to register will take you to the 2-minute enrollment form, that means the form to pay for the GAZ Pro membership, then to the Login Area

Then to unlock all the functionalities of your membership, the required step after the payment is valid, is to book the coaching call to set up a specific plan for you. An essential part of this call is to get some recommendations about already proven high-ticket affiliate commissions to work with. So after the coaching call and you’ve set up of your profile, the next step to start is to complete the necessary training.

What is the evidence that GAZ works?

Most of the presentations you can find out there has a style very similar to many of the programs about making money online that we have seen for years. There is a lot of hype about how you can make a 6-figure income in record time. As well as how can you go full-time after leaving your ‘hated’ 9 to 5 job by following the GAZ system and applying the “Laptop Freedom Formula.” The next video is proof of that.

As you can see, many individuals are receiving big fake checks as evidence of their accomplishments. As well as a large group of people enjoying in several meetings and parties.

However, apart from these images or the FB ads that anyone can find online, there is no stronger proof of real success. Such as an authoritative and long-standing website, or at least a timeline of facts where a business owner can refer you to know her/his path to success.

Given the closed of this platform, there is almost nothing to share for the public. Unless you have a paid membership, little is what everyone else can know about the real situation of this business. Just a brief glimpse of the “Income Disclaimer” that they publish on their site as we comment in the next section.

Is it Worth the Cost / Benefit Ratio?

As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words”, and the numbers presented by Global Affiliate Zone on their website speak for themselves as can be seen in the following table, although to be fair we must say that they are only data of the commissions obtained by the affiliations to the platform and not by the income generated by other activities:

Income Disclaimer

In any case, if we refer to this table as an example of general productivity, we would see that the expenditure would be above the generated income.

The data presented represent what happened in 2017, and for that year there were 9173 people marked in red who paid membership of $ 99 per month, of which only 1236, that is, 13.47% earned an income.

In blue, it can be seen that the average annual income per person is $ 78.08, that is, $ 6.5 of monthly income vs. $ 99 of expenditure for a monthly membership.

Of the 9173 consumers of the GAZ membership, only 157 people, that is to say, 1.71%, managed to earn more than $1000 in the year.

If we consider that the annualized membership is $ 1188 ($ 99 x 12) this means that 98.29% of people failed to recover even the cost of membership if their income was only as a GAZ affiliate.

So the information provided in the program can be valuable, but it is not reflected in the return of investment after working 3 hours daily for a year. There is no apparent advantage over other strategies.

What I Do like About GAZ

Facebook ads

Social Media, in general, are becoming the new great source of online traffic. Personally, I’ve tried both Facebook and Twitter, and the results have been amazing. Once you share a post on them, you can see almost an immediate surge of traffic in your stats. However, I’ve never tried Facebook ads before. Given my previous experience, my expectations are high regarding the results that GAZ strategy would have on my earnings.

Systematization and Mentorship

I like the streamlining of the platform. Again mainly what is related to FB ads training. As well as the approach of a close mentorship for new members who can be a little bit lost at the beginning. With some help can determine their goals to outline a personal plan.

Money-Back Guarantee

The guarantee of reimbursement is always something that speaks well in favor of a company. It is a short period of only 14 days, but it allows a user to explore the program in detail and decide if it is really convenient to invest in it or not.

What I Do Not Like About GAZ

Hype

First of all, as I said earlier, it seems to me that there is a lot of hype around all the GAZ promotions. Something similar to what happened some years ago with Amway or Herbalife. A lot of people talking about love, relationships, family, etc. And that’s ok if the primary purpose of people were to look for friendship on business, but I’m afraid it is not the case.

But also the bold statements everywhere regarding that you can do a six-figure income just after your first month online. It seems disproportionate, and for that reason, not very honest.

GAZ Big Checks

Limited target audience

Many of us look for an honest and real alternative to our 9 to 5 jobs. To pay the bills at the end of the month. To fulfill the needs of our family and pursue some of our relegated projects. We are not looking in the first instance for an international party with a lot of craziness, people at pools, drinking, jumping, etc.

Besides, there are a lot of people above their 40’s, and more, that still search for an opportunity to get an additional income that relieves somehow the financial pressure of their lives. At least at the beginning, the impression of GAZ doesn’t match these audiences.

Maybe it is just a personal point of view, but I believe it should be reviewed to include wider audiences.

The weakness of the scheme

While I like the idea of improving my abilities to use Facebook as a tool. To get traffic towards my offers, especially by learning how to master the use of Facebook Ads. I think that one great weakness of GAZ lies in its lack of a website as the headquarter of a business.

We all know that third-party resources would be changing and there is no guarantee that they will stay forever or that they will keep their rules as they have now. Considerable changes in Google algorithms like Panda, Penguin, or Hummingbird. The implementation of politics like GDPR in European Union. Security threats such as those with Facebook or only disappearance of platforms as happened with Squidoo are examples of what happens when our business depends solely on others.

So, GAZ seems an excellent tool to explore with, however, it should be taken by many people as a complementary one, not as the primary source of income. Putting affiliate offers everywhere has been a practice hardly allowed by search engines like Google, but also by Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, or other platforms. A whole movement on the internet tends to give the uber importance to content. As well as centralized and useful information, and that is achieved with a website. Which apparently is not the focus of attention of GAZ.

This takes us to our next point.

Price

If you are not creating a website as you should as the core of your business, why are you going to pay $99 a month for a good but complementary source of income?

People at GAZ say that the real value of the whole program with its resources should be $4,485.00. While the cost of some the items might be discussed, why do they assign a value of $ 497 to the Global Marketing Community? They are using a closed Facebook group that is free!

GAZ Total Value

Besides, there is no hosting costs, no research tools to pay for, which could explain the fee of $99 a month for training. Yes anyone can charge the price that considers fair for her/his services, but within the making money field there are a lot of other programs as good or better than GAZ whose prices are at least half of GAZ cost, and they offer a lot more resources and tools like Wealthy Affiliate for instance.

Conclusions

Global Affiliate Zone is a program that offers training and mentoring to develop an online business. Although its main focus is on the learning and use of Facebook Ads as the primary tool for income generation.

Through this technique, it is proposed to promote both the same GAZ platform as an affiliate as well as high commission third-party affiliate offers selected and recommended by the platform leaders.

The program and the platform, in general, are well designed and seem sufficiently functional for the purpose they were created. However, GAZ presents several questionable points.

First of all, the main focus of this business model is based on the use of Facebook ads. Not on a website for content centralization, which is one of the trends and requirements of the leading search engines such as Google. This is a weak point of the model because it depends solely and exclusively on third-party resources.

The evidence that the program offers about its effectiveness is indirect, and in any case, the data published by them speak of only a tiny percentage that barely recovers the payment of membership.

Also, the price for such a training that promotes a business based more on a tool that in the development of a complete site is not very competitive to other programs. Wealthy Affiliate, for instance, includes hosting, security protocols, speed optimization, image optimization, a community of more than one million entrepreneurs. Many of them with more than 10 years of experience in the field. They also offer a proprietary platform to communicate with each other, search tools such as Jaaxy and hours and hours of audiovisual material organized as certification courses for entrepreneurs.

In conclusion, one could not speak of a scam given that the program seems to have several valuable elements to take into account. However, it is evident that it is overvalued and has various weaknesses that should be remedied to improve its long-term expectations. At the moment, it seems that it still does not offer real competition against other programs well established and authoritative as Wealthy Affiliate.

Interesting read!  I’ve never heard of Global Affiliate Zone.  I’m glad I found this post so that I could learn more about them!  Your use of images has really helped me to understand the message you’re trying to convey.  Thank you for adding these images; it gives credence to your site.  You have absolutely researched this company and provided ample examples to prove your opinion.  I have selected Wealthy Affiliate, and am so very glad I found them.  It is scary to know there are so many ‘scammy’ companies out there and that WA is NOT one of them.

Honestly, GAZ does not seem like the program for me. I’m older with a family and I can’t afford to be spending so much money on an investment that really doesn’t show much proof it works. The hype makes me very nervous, because I don’t believe in get rich quick promotions. I honestly don’t have a problem spending some money, as long as I feel comfortable that I am getting value for it. Value to me is not someone telling me how easy it’s going to be to make money. Value is information and how readily available it is. Thank you for breaking GAZ down. I don’t believe GAZ is a complete scam, but I would not spend my money on them either. I believe in hard work, and it makes me really nervous when people claim to be able to bypass hard work. I appreciate the information you shared.

    Hi Tommy,

Thanks for this review on Global Affiliate Zone, I think it’s quite useful for someone would like to join as me. The affiliate programs are getting more and more, and I think it’s better that we all read this post right before we jump in.

I agree with all the points that you mentioned for something you do not like for GAZ, and I think the price is way too high for me to join which is $99 a month. And, I think it’s unlikely happening you could get a 6-figures right after the first month. It takes lots of time, efforts, and patience.

    Anyway, thanks for sharing!
