How to learn affiliate marketing?

What is the best way to learn affiliate marketing? The answer to this question is simple: there is only one way to learn affiliate marketing doing it!

Why? Essentially good for three main reasons:

  1. Affiliate Marketing is not a particular theory: it is the name of a way to do business online and earn money for it. Therefore, it is eminently practical. Of course, there are thousands of theories and theorists, but learning from them is not what will make money for you.
  2. The internet is very dynamic: The platform for affiliate marketing is the internet. The rules of operation on the Internet are increasingly more regulated both by search engines like Google as well as marketers especially if they are large companies like Amazon. You have to adapt to these rules because they determine both the presence and the position of our business in those search engines, as well as our site and our sales practices, are approved by the seller.
  3. Every business is different: Every business has a niche, more or less considerable depending on the type of product or service being promoted. The demographics of that niche and keywords we use to target it, among other things determines how much or little success we achieve both generating traffic to our site and getting clicks on our links from that traffic which finally buy to the seller to make a commission for us.

You can learn from a book specific techniques about the companies offering affiliate programs; about how to build a website to promote products as an affiliate; SEO techniques to ranking your site and increase traffic; techniques on how to optimize text on your publications or graphics on them and many other technical things like HTML; backlinks, keywords, social media, statistics, etc.

However any book that seeks to teach you everything about affiliate marketing is lying because according to the previous three points, it will be talking about very generic stuff and a precise moment in time. Reading a book to be a scholar is excellent, but for generating results isn’t the most appropriate way to follow.

Areas such as science, medicine, engineering, finance depend not only on what their professionals learned in college but what they learned in practice, what they regularly read in specialized articles and what they discuss in forums also specialized.

In the field of online business in general and affiliate marketing, in particular, you got the same possibility. Wealthy Affiliate is a platform for which you have access to a workshop to teach you gradually from building your site to advanced promoting techniques. You can access weekly seminars with practical topics; you have a community of thousands of people to which you can ask a question and get an answer in record time. And many more tools. There are certainly other options also recommended although the best is certainly this one.

In short, those of us who do affiliate marketing do to make money, not to become wiser and the time you occupy in learning theory without practice is lost. You need to learn many things, but above all know what works for your particular case otherwise discard it. To this end, the current information you need, more than in books you can find it within communities that are dedicated to online business and Wealthy Affiliate is the community that has more experience in this regard.

      Hi Pentrental,

I think it is quite common for people to start an online business with great enthusiasm, but after a while, they get stuck fearing mistakes. Then they begin to accumulate information with the idea of doing things in the best possible way. However, the learning that comes from making mistakes is much more valuable than any information, because it gives us lessons that we never forget and with which we grow. General advice to online business is to act as quickly as possible.

Learning how to effectively have an affiliate marketing business cannot be learned from a book only, I totally agree with you on this. It takes hands-on doing the many tasks for yourself to get the requisite skills. It is not that hard, but it does take time and effort.

While this is the case, it is not the same as learning a craft such as welding or painting. The steps and tasks can be pretty much learned by anyone that is motivated to get their own business started and work at it until they have built the income to the point where they can give up the day job.

It does help to have a resource or resources to touch base with to learn the path to becoming a business owner of your own successful marketing operation, and there are several platforms where you can do that. These generally will provide the training and the tools to actually build what you need.

It is not easy and it is not that fast in most cases, but for those that have stuck it out and kept working at it, the incomes and rewards have been many. So it is worth your time and effort. Your post does point out the best way to learn how to learn affiliate marketing: Learn it by doing it!

The platform that you link to is an excellent choice to get access to everything that you need to get a solid start. You have the training, you have the tools, and a step by step means to get things done – for yourself and by yourself. If you run into problems, there are plenty of members to help you almost immediately.
